American Kestrel Patch

Product Details

#2 American Kestrel

North America’s smallest and most widespread falcon, the American Kestrel can be found perched on roadside fences as well as on rooftops in the densest cities. For their size, they’re fearsome predators, and their shrill call often announces their presence. They hunt by rapidly beating their wings to hover in place, scanning open territory below for grasshoppers or other small prey.

This patch is part of our collection supporting the Grassland Bird Trust, a non-profit preserving open habitat in upstate New York that kestrels depend on.

All embroidered bird patches have an iron-on backing, but the adhesive is temporary. For durability, we recommend sewing or using a permanent, flexible fabric glue.
