#38 Black-necked Stilt

Delicate looking shorebirds with long pink legs, Black-necked Stilts forage in shallow wetlands, walking purposefully in search of tiny invertebrates. Their range spans from Argentina all the way to the Pacific Northwest, and there’s also a Hawaiian subspecies. They belong to the same family as the American Avocet, another elegant black-and-white shorebird.

This patch is inspired by Delta Wind Birds, a nonprofit organization that works to protect the natural areas of the Mississippi Delta in which Black-necked Stilts migrate or breed.

All embroidered bird patches have an iron-on backing, but the adhesive is temporary. For durability, we recommend sewing or using a permanent, flexible fabric glue.
