This design is based on an original 1980s NARBA (North American Rare Bird Alert) T-shirt by Pam Morrice. Founded in 1985 by Bob Odear, NARBA offered a continent-wide telephone and computer information system "designed by a birding enthusiast for birding enthusiasts." Pam was married to Bob at the time, and helped start and run the news service.
We are re-issuing a selection of Pam's eight original NARBA designs with her and NARBA's permission. We're thrilled to bring these vintage designs back to life and share NARBA's story! Visit NARBA's website and read our profile on it to learn more about the information service and its role in birding history.
We will donate 30% of the profits from this collection to R&R Wildlife Rehabilitation, a Georgia-based non-profit dedicated to the care and release of sick, injured and orphaned wildlife. We are grateful to R&R's founder, Melinda Sanders, and her mother Pam, for sharing their memories of NARBA's early years with us.
