We love finches every day of the year, but it's in the winter months that we eagerly seek northern species that only come south en masse when their typical food sources--such as spruce cones and mountain ash berries--are in short supply.
We've partnered with the Finch Research Network (FiRN) to create this sweatshirt. Illustrated by Maine artist Jada Fitch, it captures some our favorite irruptive finches: Evening Grosbeak, Pine Grosbeak, Red Crossbill, White-winged Crossbill, and Common Redpoll. And for good measure, it has one of our year-round finch favorites, the American Goldfinch. And the yellow ink is PUFFY!
The Finch Research Network (FiRN is a nonprofit that works to grow our understanding of finches. Bird Collective donates a portion of its profits to bird conservation groups like FiRN.
