We’re excited to announce a new partnership with New York City Audubon - and with it a new shirt that recognizes its commitment to keeping beach-nesting birds in the Big Apple. The first thing that comes to mind with New York usually isn't its beaches, but the city has 520 miles of coastline, including salt marshes, barrier islands, and miles of dunes stretching along the Atlantic Ocean, where threatened birds like Black Skimmers, Common Terns, and American Oystercatchers return every summer and lay their eggs right on the sand. The pressures of human development are never far away, and these habitats need protection and the birds require monitoring, which is what NYC Audubon has been doing for almost a decade.
We commissioned this awesome design from Brooklyn artist and naturalist Aimee Lusty. Aimee is a New York State Master Naturalist passionate about cataloging flora, fungi and fauna through photography, sketching, and field recording. Check out more of her work at www.aimeelusty.com.
30% of profits go to New York City Audubon as they continue their mission to protect NYC's beach-nesting birds.
