We commissioned Yurok artist Trevor Hook for this design, which celebrates the Yurok Tribe's ongoing work to bring California Condors back to Yurok ancestral lands around the Klamath River and the surrounding region. Trevor explains his idea to show "all of these birds, which I think represent the Klamath area, witnessing and recognizing the release of the condor adding to the healthy ecosystem."
The Yurok Tribe in northwest California has been leading a broad partnership for more than a decade to bring the critically endangered bird back to the Pacific Northwest, which was once part of its northern range before being extirpated over 100 years ago. California Condors--prey-go-neesh in Yurok--occupy an important place in Yurok culture.
Bird Collective donates a portion of its profits to the Tribe and other bird conservation groups.
