Artist Profile: David Huang

David is a New York based illustrator and Designer who grew up in Taipei, Taiwan and calls San Francisco his second home. When he isn't illustrating, he enjoys taking the subway to try foods, dancing on the weekends, learning new languages, and searching for random historical facts on wikipedia.

What do you seek to communicate in your work?

Colors, shapes, patterns, lines, complied carefully for its purpose.

How has nature been a source of inspiration for you?

In 2017 I went to Iceland and was blown away by the beautiful fjords and waterfalls on every corner. I will never forget the colors and the landscapes I saw there, I think that was the first time I truly understood the sacredness and the scale of nature. I try to capture the same feeling in my work.

Tell us about your most memorable bird experience.

I used to go to my classmates’ house in elementary school, and they had an African Grey Parrot, I remember always saying things to it, hoping it would blurt out something wise, since I heard they’re super smart!
