The Kirkland’s warbler provides a great opportunity to discuss the importance of habitat while the American Woodcock has so many hilarious nicknames it’s just giggles. The Green and Great Blue herons are graphic examples of size and hunting specialization even among “birds of a feather” Thank you.

I’m impressed this patch came out so good!!!! There are so many fine lines and intricate details but they’re all clean and each colour on the patch is beautiful! Not to mention the thin leg, we’ll see how that holds up over time, but I have high hopes! The other patches my friends have gotten have held up extremely well.

The patch itself and the design and embroidery is really beautiful. That being said, i feel these patches are misnamed. They are NOT iron-on patches, they are purely sew-on patches. While the packaging and online description does say "sew on for permanence", the term "iron on" really shouldn't even be in the product description at all, as it doesn't give the wearer any sense of just how weak and temporary the adhesive actually is. I took great care to iron these on with lots of heat and steam, only to have them all fall off about 2 hours into their first wear. I ended up hand sewing them on which is fine, but it was time consuming and may not be for everyone (folks with arthritis for example) which is why I do feel the term "iron on" should be completely removed from this product, with more language and guidance for the customer around just how temporary that adhesive really is.

I think that all of the patches are terrific. This one is especially so because my wife, who is a paddler (solo canoe and kayak), would often see green herons in her jaunts around the lake. Great detail.
