#85 Barn Swallow Patch

Agile, graceful flyers, Barn Swallows skim low over open water and open fields in search of flying insect prey. They are steely blue above and rust-colored below, and their forked tails set them apart from all other North American swallows. They breed throughout the Northern Hemisphere and spend winters in much of the Southern Hemisphere. They often build their cup-shaped mud nests on human-made structures, such as bridges and houses.
