A brown-gray goose with bright orange legs and a pinkish bill ringed with white, the Greater White-fronted is a serious traveler. These geese breed on Arctic tundra across the Northern Hemisphere, and migrate south to fields and wetlands in North America, Europe, and Asia. Outside of the breeding season, they form large flocks and their laughter-like calls—hence the nickname of Laughing Goose—can be heard from loose lines passing overhead.
