Product Details

Everyone can celebrate Black experiences in nature with this collection, which is a collaboration with Black Birders week 2025. The design features four sparrows, symbolizing the diversity and range of the sparrow family—much like the Black diaspora. Each bird was chosen for its unique story and symbolism:

  • Seaside Sparrow – An endangered species found along the Eastern U.S. coast, overlapping with the area of the Gullah Geechee people.

  • Sudan Golden Sparrow – Commonly found in Sudan, Ethiopia, and Senegal, representing our connection to Africa and compassion for those affected by ongoing conflict in Sudan and other struggles for liberation.

  • Song Sparrow – Ranging across the U.S., from cities to deserts and marshes, representing adaptability.

  • Dark-eyed Junco – Spanning from Canada to Mexico, symbolizing change and resilience.

This year’s design, themed “Grounded in Community,” is a tribute to the Black diaspora—honoring those who have gained, or are still fighting for, liberation and sovereignty around the world.

  • Sizing & Fit

    Unisex Fit.
  • Materials & Care

    100% heavyweight cotton.

This is pigment dyed, which gives a soft, washed, vintage look with slight variations in color. The pigment fades a bit with repeated washing, giving a lived-in feel that we love.

Avoid using bleach, harsh detergents, and hot water. For best results, turn the garment inside-out and wash with cold water and mild detergent, with like colors. Colors may bleed in first wash.

Screen printed in Brooklyn with PVC-free inks.

  • Shipping & Returns

Return or exchange unwashed, unworn clothing within 30 days of purchase.
